Bishopsgate Goodsyard redevelopment set for approval

The Greater London Authority’s planning officers have recommended that London mayor Sadiq Khan should approve plans to redevelop Bishopsgate Goodsyard, E1.

The GLA’s planners said the proposals from Ballymore and Hammerson were “well considered” and of a high quality, which would make a “significant” contribution to regenerating the area.

In the report to the mayor, the planners added that while the proposals would have “severe impacts on neighbourhood amenity with regard to daylight and sunlight”, any further reductions in the height and massing of the 10 planned buildings “would fail to optimise the development potential of the site”.
