Colliers International has set up a new business line to work with occupiers in what it calls “challenging and frontier” markets.
The agency has tasked Filip Rerko with leading the new complex and emerging markets solutions division, which will work with clients in Africa, the Middle East and Eurasia and span in-house teams and local partners.
Andrew Hallissey, executive managing director for occupier services in EMEA at Colliers, said the new offering will help clients in “some of the most complex geographies in the world”.
Rerko started his career with Colliers in 2005 in the Czech Republic before leaving the agency to work in the real estate division of conglomerate Honeywell and then engineering group Garrett Motion, where he was global head of real estate. He returned to Colliers in 2019 to work in the EMEA occupier services team.
