Gousto cooks up 196,000 sq ft logistics prelet

Recipe box company Gousto has signed a 10-year lease for CBRE UK Property PAIF’s 196,178 sq ft cold store facility in West Thurrock in Essex. The Chillbox facility on the Tunnel Estate also includes a two-storey office. The deal is in line with Gousto’s plans to increase its capacity by at least threefold by 2022, after seeing “record levels of sales” for meals as a result of lockdown. CBRE UK Property PAIF fund manager Hannah Marshall said: “In the current climate, cold storage continues to show strong occupational demand and we ensured that our letting campaign primarily addressed this sector of the market. “The fund’s investment into Chillbox has resulted in an excellent letting and provides our investors with secure income on this asset.” Sovereign Centros, DTRE and BNP Paribas Real Estate advised CBRE Global Investors; SBH Shaun Galvin represented Gousto.
