GLA approves £3bn Thameside West regen scheme

The Greater London Authority has approved Keystone and GLA Property’s £3bn Silvertown regeneration at Thameside West, E16. It will see 5,000 homes – 1,700 of which will be affordable – more than 200,000 sq ft of workspace, 75,000 sq ft of retail and 5.7 acres of public open space in the Royal Docks. The decision was taken by deputy mayor for planning Jules Pipe at a public hearing on 5 August. The GLA called the scheme in at the end of last year, following refusal from Newham Council in November. GLAP will start development with the first phase comprising 401 homes and 35,000 sq ft of workspace designed by John McAslan & Partners.
