Lidgate left L&G Homes last month. In his previous role, he developed and delivered the business plan for L&G Homes, creating its first wholly-owned housebuilding arm as well as managing its strategic land portfolio.
He was also responsible for a £250m equity investment into its build-to-rent joint venture, growing the pipeline from 692 homes to nearly 3,000, with total available capital of more than £1.2bn.
John Milligan, chief executive of Milligan Retail, said: “The residential sector will play an important role in the mixed-use solution to revitalising our failing high streets and shopping centres.”
The news comes after Stuart Harris, former director and co-founder of Queensberry Real Estate, was hired as Milligan’s chief operating officer in June last year.
