Colliers to restart on-site property viewings

Colliers International is planning to resume on-site viewings following the government’s latest guidance on returning to work. The agent said it will enable its employees to undertake on-site visits, inspections and viewings as a “priority”, since it is a type of work that cannot be done from home. Kate Morgan, UK chief operating officer at Colliers International, said: “We appreciate that this comes with its own complexities based on asset type, location and occupation considerations. “We will work to ensure these can be carried out in accordance with RICS guidelines as they are updated, ensuring safe travel, supplying the necessary PPE, and only where it’s safe to do so.” Morgan added that the business will “make every reasonable effort” to enable staff to work from home, which is the “primary option”. She said: “We will continue to support a home working environment until everybody can return to the office on a phased basis during the coming months.” While other agents have not yet unveiled their back-to-work policies, Avison Young has announced it is offering remote working to its staff until the end of the year. The agency said that returning to the office will be voluntary for any employee who is able to work remotely until 31 December.
