Savills offers virtual viewings for more than half of lots at auction
Around half of the lots so far listed for Savills’ 12 May auction have virtual viewing tours in response to the coronavirus lockdown.
The auctioneer has so far pulled in 51 lots for the sale, which will take place as a live video stream on Savills’ website with remote bidding by phone, proxy and through the internet.
Christopher Coleman-Smith, head of Savills Auctions, said: “In a market where some buyers may be feeling uncertain it is important that vendors have realistic expectations when it comes to setting a reserve price. Around half of the lots on offer have virtual viewing tours – meaning buyers can both bid and browse from their own homes. And, uniquely, we have multiple lots with regulated tenancies, typically bought by professional investors but these provide a great opportunity for smaller investors to build their portfolios.”
