FEC reveals plans for Northern Gateway’s Victoria Riverside

Far East Consortium has unveiled its draft proposals and images for the 634-home Victoria Riverside scheme in the Northern Gateway in Manchester. The scheme will see five towers built, the tallest of which will be 37 storeys. Commercial space will be built along Dantzic Street and a public realm, Gateway Square, will be created. Local communities and business owners have been invited to a public consultation on the 23 March to discuss the development. Victoria Riverside is part of the first phase of the £1bn Northern Gateway regeneration being delivered by FEC in partnership with Manchester City Council. The first phase will see more than 1,000 homes built, 20% of homes will be affordable. In last week’s government budget, £51.6m of funding was given to the Northern Gateway scheme. FEC project director Hilary Brett said: “Sharing our draft proposals for Victoria Riverside is an important day for us.
