Charity and social: CALA digs deep for charities
Applications for CALA Group’s community bursary, which helps fund projects in local communities, open this month.
In 2019, the group awarded more than £100,000 to 117 causes. One beneficiary was tag rugby team Witney Wolves, which received £1,000. The team encourages sports participation for children and adults with learning disabilities.

Legal & General Homes raised £30,000 for Wokingham, Bracknell & Districts Mencap in 2019, concluding a year-long partnership with the charity.
WBDM supports more than 1,200 adults and children with learning disabilities and autism spectrum conditions.
The funds were raised by the home builder at its annual gala dinner and additional fundraising activities, including raffles and coffee mornings.
Shanly lends a helping hand
Property developer Shanly Partnership Homes, part of the Shanly Group, has donated £22,500 to support three homeless charities in the Home Counties.
Herts Young Homeless specialises in providing young people in Hertfordshire with advice, mediation and education, while Aylesbury Homeless Action Group and Wycombe Homeless Connection help vulnerable adults.
In 2019, Aylesbury Homeless Action Group was able to provide assistance to more than 230 people in the local area.
What a blooming good idea
Liverpool One brightened up “Blue Monday” with flowers placed around the shopping centre for visitors to take on their way to work.
Supporters of the initiative, which aimed to spread joy on what is recognised as the most depressing day of the year, included Harvey Nichols and The Body Shop.

A team from Curchod & Co chartered surveyors is in training for the Surrey Half Marathon. The 10 runners are raising funds for Woking and Sam Beare Hospice.

Be part of the 2020 Vertical Rush at Tower 42, EC2. Join more than 1,000 runners at Old Broad Street on 12 March as they climb the building’s 42 floors (942 steps) in aid of homeless charity Shelter.
