That was the message that Ged King, founder of Skullfades Foundation, came to tell delegates at EG’s Future of Real Estate summit. The Mancunian barber has set up a charity which not only gives free haircuts to homeless people living in the city, but trains them to become barbers themselves. Having experienced homelessness himself, King knows exactly how just one act of kindness and one opportunity can give you the chance to get yourself off the streets. “How many people have slept outside your developments?” King asked delegates. Real estate has a role to play in helping tackle this issue – and helping couldn’t be easier.
