Bruntwood founder Oglesby dies
Bruntwood founder Michael Oglesby CBE has died at the age of 80.
Oglesby, who founded the business in 1970, grew the firm from its modest beginnings to become one of the leading commercial property owners in the English regions.
The company owns more than 120 buildings in Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Liverpool, Leeds and Birmingham, comprising approximately 8.8m sq ft with a value in excess of £1bn.

In Manchester city centre, Bruntwood owns approximately 20% of the commercial office space.
Oglesby was born in 1939 in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, and after receiving a degree in building at Aston University, spent his early working years in the construction industry before moving to Manchester in 1970.
He was married to his wife, Jean, for more than 50 years. His son, Chris, succeeded him as chief executive of Bruntwood in 1998 and his daughter, Kate, works in the business and has recently taken over as chair of the Oglesby Charitable Trust.
Oglesby established OCT with his wife in 2000.
In January 2011 he was awarded a CBE for his services to industry and charity.
From April 2007 to April 2008 he was high sheriff of Greater Manchester. From May 2009 to June 2014 he was vice lord-lieutenant of Greater Manchester. He retired in 2014 having serviced his full term of office.
