A joint venture between Kier Property and CTP has received the green light for its £200m Pall Mall office scheme in Liverpool.
Liverpool City Council gave consent for the scheme today, which will see the first grade-A office development built in the city’s business district for over 10 years.
Plans include 400,000 sq ft of office space, a 281-bed hotel, retail and leisure space, and public realm space.
The first phase of the development includes a 102,000 sq ft office with 9,600 sq ft of ground floor space and a car park basement area.
Construction will start in summer 2020.
Kier and CTP were selected to be the council’s development partners for the scheme in 2017 and submitted plans for the development in July this year.
Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson, said: “Liverpool city centre needs new grade-A office space to attract companies and highly skilled jobs so we can continue to grow our economy.
“We’re looking at how we can develop the district over the next 10-20 years and this scheme will act as a catalyst for the future aspirations for the area 2020 and beyond.”
David Topham, CTP director, said: “This decision to approve the Pall Mall development proposals represents a major vote of confidence in Kier’s and CTP’s revitalisation of the office sector in Liverpool. Our plans are to expand the central business district of the city creating a unique environment for business with a new peaceful square and gardens at its heart.”
